Hi@Porterve -sorry for the delay - yeah I’m happy with this reader. It gives 118 live data points on the power train module and delivers enough bang for the small amount of bucks to analyse your car. Mine cost me $140 AUD. Well worth it. 👍
Hi Ben,
thanks for your reply.
I ended up purchasing the iCarsoft LR v2.0 reader and am in the process of testing it on both my cars.
Will advise my progress at a later date.
I notice from the links you posted that the s/w ver 1.60 which is included with the Mangoose cable only supports vehicles from 2005 up.
Do you know which version s/w supports my 1997 XK8 & 2000 S-type?
Many thanks.
Version 1.33 is available on Ebay at a good price. and covers cars up to somewhere between 2009- 2012 (I think). GGG knows this stuff back and forth and he would be good to ask.
The one that I ordered was version V145 JLR Mangoose SDD for Jaguar and Land Rover Supports till 2014 Year. I would look for that or ask the ODBII65 site about that version.

I had previously mentioned that the running extremely rich condition was solved by cleaning and reinstalling the OEM fuel injectors and at the same time the idling issue was solved by replacing the throttle body with a used one and that eliminated the P1584 code. The P1383 code also disappeared.
I’ve recently solved a Gearbox fault warning when I repaired the transmission wiring harness that had dropped down and had been resting on the exhaust manifold. (This had happened at some time before I got the car). I separated and reconnected all of the damaged wires and re-insulating them and preventing the short across the exposed wires. See pic of melted wiring harness below. After a hard re-set the warning is no longer displayed and my transmission is shifting like a dream and there is more power! God it feels good when careful troubleshooting and repairs work out and solve a problem!!
The last thing to sort out now is my constantly flashing DSC light! (I have no codes on the ABS module when checked with my icarsoft. I’ll start a separate thread on that one).
