Default abs brakes issue on s-type

well looking more n more like the proverbial pig n a poke I just bought........ three weeks into ownership and have engine management light on, abs and dfs ?? warning and cruise stopped working

then today used wipers in earnest, yes in sunny Aberdeen only to find that the drivers side did not wipe window...lotta digging and did a patch up on worn spindle so at least wipers clean window....... you wont believe but a major mouse nest in top corner so wipers having to cut through their crud no wonder worn!!!

OH can I have my XJ back as it was just brilll

goint to be doing the brakes part over the coming weeks as I think all linked, new pads discs etc fitted prior to me buying so hoping simple but anyone with other ideas gald to hear of them

But do have front fog lights working.... amazing what a fuse can do !!

Sounds like your S-type was slightly neglected by its previous owner(s).

Check battery is good, because this can affect a whole lot of things relying on electronics.

You should make sure the battery is in good shape before doing anything drastic and get the codes read to see why the light is on.
and.......
You should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Interesting point about the mouse nest.

Just doing some routine maintenance on my S type over the weekend and removed the plastic scuttle panel to clean out any debris.

In the top left corner (looking from the front of the car) I also found a mouse nest behind the wiper mechanism. It had used the sound insulation to build it.

As I poked around the mouse dropped out and ran off!!!

The car has seen little use over the winter (apart from a recent service by a Jaguar dealership) so I guess it was a safe and warm place for it.

Luckily it had not eaten any off the wiring.

OMG. Sounds very very neglected. Not good for any car. Would apply to an XJ, too!
