ABS Light- Please HELP
I have a 2002 Jaguar S type 3.0 a few weeks back I started my car and tried to drive when the traction control light blinked and the car loss power until I turned the traction control off, had the codes read in which I got the codes back for abs motor fault along with the two front abs sensors being bad. I had the abs motor and module replaced only to have the same problem any suggestions what to do now?
Proper etiquitte is to post an intro in the new members section - you have posted 3X into the S Type section without an intro.
As far as your codes - what were they?
An ABS motor fault doesn't necessarily mean the motor is shot... they rarely go - however a bad abs module (circuit within the module - black box attached to the abs motor) is more than likely your culprit. You can run 12V directly to the old motor to see if it runs (if you have it) if it runs - more reason to suspect the abs module. But since you replaced the motor - look at the module.
If you had a C1095 code - look at your abs module. very hard to test - but you can get them rebuilt or find a used unit at the scrap yard. (Be sure to get an exact match - code on the module)
But I cannot say for sure w/o the codes. The module controls both the motor and gathers info from your abs sensors and processes it.
Finally, you can perform a hard reset of the ECM to see if the code(s) go away. Again, my $ is on the abs module. (and you possibly changed parts out for no reason)
Also, possibly your battery could be an issue.
