Post Adding OEM nav unit to 2004 S-Type

I have a 2004 S-Type 4.0 that I want to install the OEM navigation system on. I have a couple of questions:

1. Besides the head unit and the DVD in the trunk, are there any other pieces I will need?

2. Will I have to do the wiring or are the cars already pre-wired?

Thanks in advance,
Don

Wow - I didn't know the 4.0 was still made in 2004!! I've seen no electrical or other guides about it.

My appologies. I meant a 4.2.

Thanks,
Don

Check out this posting, it's for an X type, but I understand they are the same as the "S"

Ah, a 4.2. The good news is it may well be pre-wired.

Thanks for the info! This was exactly what I was wondering.

Thanks,

Just use that thread and it'll work. Trust me, I've done it to my 03 STR! It's pretty easy. The hardest part is making the wiring harness since Nav was pretty much the only thing these cars weren't pre-wired for.
