Default air bag light on

Advice please I had someone in the back of my STR at the weekend and he has big feet I am tall so I have got the seat all the way back. I noticed after a while the air bag light on the dash started to flicker and then stay on. I need to un bolt the seat to see if any connections have been disturbed, will I need to disconnect the battery to do this ?
Thank you
Regards Rich

To be on the safe side Rich, it is best to do just that. Make sure you have the radio code before you do.

Hope this helps,

I have removed both seats from my wife's XK8 at different times to fix a couple of different problems. I did not disconnect the battery either time. I had no issues as a result. As has previously been said, you may want to do so just to be sure, but have your radio code in hand before you pull your battery connections....

You may not need to remove the seats. On my S-Type the light goes on when it gets hot once in a while. I jiggle a quarter inch cable located near the center of the seat and that appears to work. Also you may want to raise the seat a bit since the warning light cable may get crimped.
