Default Amber light on 2003 - 3 litre jaguar petrol.

Was driving my car yesterday and Amber light came on for about 20 seconds then went out - anyone advise as to what this could be
as I'm NOT a mechanic.

Thanks.

Alister,

I've just found this in Other Jaguar Models / Concepts / Replicas forum and moved it to S-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

If it's the MIL, read the codes.

Hi Alister,
Did you happen to be on a slippery road surface at the time and just pulling away? If so, it was probably an ABS warning light. If you do not see the warning again you should be ok but when you take the car in for a service ask the engineer to review the OBD2 fault log.
Cheers,
