Default Another remote locking problem!!

Hi All,

I have been reading nothing but information on the remote locking problems since I ad an x-type a while back, I managed to get a new key for it and programmed it no problem,

Now I have an s-type and when I bought it the remote locking didn't work, Got a new key as before but when I cycle it in the ignition I get no chime, Im doing it fast and I have done it before with the x-type no problem,

Any ideas? All the doors lock/unlock on the key but I cant get any response from the remote? It has battery, The lights come on when the door is open, Im stumped!!

Any ideas? I thought maybe it was a fuse but cant seem to find a 'remote locking' fuse in the handbook, Maybe im just being blind?

Any info will be very much appreciated!

Diffferent car. The S-Type is much more secure. You need a dealer-type tool to program a key in. Take all with you as the others are deleted (which is great if anyone has kept one when they sold the car, as so often happens).

Hi, im have the same problem with my remote not working, i have just been told- Have you checked that the flap in the ignition keyhole is closing fully? If it's sticking open, the remote keyfobs don't work.

Just an update, I took it to Jaguar and as mentioned before it does need to be done by their system, I got it done for £42 and it works great now!, Only took them 10 minutes as well

Thats good to know!, They are very good by me and although I begrudge spending so much money all the time on this marque they make it easier and get the job done right everytime!
