Audio fibre optic connections
2007 STR 45k miles
My audio system has stopped working:
CDC not recognised, tel module not recognised, voice commands failure (screen says "mute on"), no audio on sat nav.....no audio full stop.
I have checked the optical connections in boot/trunk and all seem fine and fuses are good. Someone told me that there can be a dodgy connection in the passenger footwell but I can't find it...
Can anyone shed some light on where it is?
Cheers
Rob

If you goto the boot and remove the car side fibre optic, look down the cable as an assistant turns on the ignition with radio on, you should get red flashes on one side, from the head unit, I believe these are the wake up signals. This is a quick test of the audio unit optic out put.
you can also view the modules in service mode, you will see what the car is reading

>My audio system has stopped working:
Ugh, the same thing happened to me back in 2015. Had it diagnosed by the dealer and they discovered: "Audio amplifier module assembly is faulty, causing MOST network to crash. Needs a new amp".
When it failed all audio stopped, not phone, no GPS, no radio/CD.
It ended up needing one of these:
SNG Barratt - Product Details
It is on the top of the stack in the driver's side of the trunk.

So welcome to the machine
