Jon,

I've moved this from UK forum to S-Type forum to get a wider viewing and (hopefully) replies from members with the same model.

If auto, very cheap. I'd be worried what they're not doing...

Jon,

You will have the ZF 6 speed box in a 2003, the fluid is important, ZF markets their own whic tends to be pricy, Millers make one which seems to be the potoion of choice in the UK if you are not using the ZF stuff.

There is an insulating sleeve for the electrical connection which can leak and should be changed as the pan has to be dropped to change it. It's not an expensive part.

The filter is part of the pan and should be changed also, there are sometimes problems with corroded bolts which need to be replaced it's a UK car so likely corroded!

The level check procedure is quite involved and needs to be followed closely you will find the details in the How To section at the top of the S Type page.

Here's a link for the fluid http://www.millersoils.co.uk/automot...238&sector=Car

Yes I see what your saying,my local garage who I've used for 16years for mots etc recommended them and booked it in under their name and I do trust their judgement, better the devil you know, but in saying that it does seem rather cheap ,cheers jon.
