Default Automatic Headlights stay on during day

Shortly after performing the self leveling headlight fix the automatic headlights come on when car is started during daylight and stay on. Wondering if self leveling quick fix messed up automatic control? Any help appreciated.

The fix won't cause it but maybe you disturbed a wire, trapped one, or some such. Could be corrosion.

I didn't touch any wires jagv8, just screwed the screw into the self leveling device. The fix works like a charm. Just noticed yesterday that lights were on during bright daylight. Perhaps there is a sensor like that of the rain sensor for the auto wipers that is covered with dirt, grime, bugs, etc.?

No-one else has reported it plus Brutal knows his stuff - both point to a specific problem with your car.

My 2001 Ford product wagon with 140K miles that sits outside started doing this about a year ago. So maybe it's a Ford systems thing with a dirty/hazed sensor or just plain corrosion. My automatic windows started being intermittent too.

I don't suppose you have anything on the dash obscuring the sensor by any chance?

Brutal says light sensor is on back of mirror. I do hang my radar detector just below the mirror?
