B2426 Jaguar Passenger solar radiation sensor circuit open
can some one translate this for me please
"Passenger sensor circuit open", i know what that means
but "solar radiation" sounds like some thing is getting to much sun
and where is it and what dose it look like

The training guide X202nas_2003MY_UPDATE_JJM181516-25.pdf describes the solar load sensor and gives the location.(it also houses the security system indicator light)
The file is large at over 10mb

The Publication 703_SG_02_Climate Control is a good guide.

Gus should have these on his site.

 

Isn’t it the other sensor? I thought the raised oblong unit on the top of the dash contains the PATS indicator and the single sensor for the automatic headlights. The flatter round unit is the dual solar sensor for the climate control system.

He disconnected the round sensor and took care of an erratic climate control problem. The automatic headlight system still worked.

 

I believe 2002.5+ (X202 onwards) don't have the second, round sensor... This is why the demister panels changed with the initial "facelift"...
