Default Barcelona on 2003 str

HI EVERYONE

AM planning to buy set of barcelona wheels for my 2003 str
the are 19 x 8" front 60 offset
19X 9.5 rear 60 offset

just wondering they work right out of box or some modification required?
and what tire size and pressure is recommended ?
can i get wider or higher profile

i curbed my zeus and hit a pothole and had to pay 800$ for repair on all 4 wheels , now running totally vibration free but i was gone on barcelona's the moment i saw them ?
cheers

Nope, should work right out of the box. They wouldn't have changed much over the years.

so i can go 255/40/19 or 245/45/19 on front
and 285/35/19 or 275/40/19

or can i even go 255/45 and 285/40 with profile?
just want higher prifile for ride smoothness and save the rims from getting bent

cheers

STR 18" rear are 275/35 so the sizes you listed would be far bigger diameter, wouldn't they? Will they fit and do you realise the speedo will be off? (And will it throw codes?)

I think it'll only through a code if Left and Right are different. I've had some VERY different sizes on other vehicals with Stability controls, and ABS. But the Jag is different and VERY much electrical, so who knows.

But yes your speedo will be off for sure. Larger tire = speedo slow. If it shows 70 for example, you could be doing 78mph GPS. Smaller tire = speedo fast. It'll show a higher MPH then actual speed.

if stock str can take increase from 18" to 19" or even 20" , i dont think 5-10% increase in profile of tire will matter
thanks for warning me and making me do research on it

since speedo checks from drive shaft and double checks with ABS
stock tire diameter (35% of 275 ) + 18" = 96.25MM + 457.2 mm = 553.45mm
circumference = 553.45 x 3.14 = 1737.8 MM

barcelona rear setup

diameter = (35% of 275) + 19" = 96.25 + 482.6 = 578.85 MM

difference = 25.4 = 4.5 %

since at stock it reads 96kmph on gps with needle at 100 , i think it will be perfect

its just a comparison on both setup my way , not implying this is the correct way

i hope my way of calculating all this was correct

Larger stock rim goes with correspondingly reduced tire profile. You want to increase the profile so should go with a smaller rim not a larger one.

You will also affect handling if you do as you propose.

agree

i am pretty laid back driver , never speed through corners , just occassional straight wot , just dont want to bend or break rims , and want to confirm fitment , no other concern
cheers

So go with smaller than 18" rim and larger profile.

Zeus rims are pretty tough. Tougher rims may not be available but if they are I suspect they would not be larger i.e. not 19" and not 20".

17" fit, I've read.

You're not going to achieve your goals - other than appearance - with those rims

We have rough, badly-repaired roads so they would not be suitable at any price!
