Default Bidding on auction cars

I was looking at used jag s-types as i usually do and came across some auction cars on iaai/copart they dont seem to bad where they are immediately scrap and since i just finished by project car(83 mercedes 240d) i would have time to go out and fet parts for it. now my main concern is actually how to bid on the car as i dont have a dealer license so is there a certin website i can bid on these cars. Well also does the 2000 4.0 engine look right the plastic cover has always been on my x308 and ive never seen an s type without the plastic
2000 4.0

Yes i know it would probably be cheaper to just buy a good one than restore one of these but id rather save one of these cars from the crusher and have fun while doing it

2001 ford f150
2003 jaguar xj8(x308)
1984 porsche 928s(project)
1983 Mercedes 240d
1945 ford tractor
1994 buick roadmaster (owned for 2 hours)

Have you used previously used this service? A good friend recently went through a MAJOR headache using a similar service here in Oregon. He was not allowed to attend the physical auction as he didn't have a dealer license. He bid online through a third party.

The car itself was as described, so no issue there. But what really got him was the red tape and exorbitant fees. For example, he was not even allowed on the premises after having won the auction. The car was non-running (as described) and he planned to trailer it home. He then found out he only had a very narrow time frame to remove it from the property, but couldn't even access the car due to the lack of a dealer license. He was forced to hire a tow truck (through the auction company, of course) just to move the car a few hundred feet off the lot.

I think the car itself was only $1500 (a fair price based on condition), but the tow truck and other fees added about another $800. Plus he had to take a day off from work after finding out about the time restrictions. It became a very expensive bargain car.

He said after all the hassle and expense, he'd never do that again. The auction system seemed to be set up to keep us peasants away. Do your homework before proceeding to make sure the same traps are not awaiting you.

That's not a Jag engine in the 4.0.
