Occasionally when pressing the unlock on the keyfob, it unlocks as it should but the boot lid also opens. When that happens every driver door opening (or unlock) brings the same result (boot lid opens). It will continue for a short while but will eventually stop for a few days, but resumes at indiscriminate times. Any experiences with this, or thoughts? It would seem to be tied to drivers door lock mechanism but...???? This is on the 2008 S-Type btw...

 

Could this be a problem with your fob? Have you tried using your spare fob for a while to see if the problem goes away? Also consider if the fob battery needs replacing.
