Default Brake issue

Noticed my brakes not working as well under hard braking. This afternoon I put my foot on the brake while stationary and heard a blowing sound. The greater the force on the brake pedal the louder the noise. Brakes fine under normal braking but not hard braking. Could this be some sort of vacuum assist issue?
Thanks

Kind of hard to tell??

Check fluid? Report back.

Can you explain brakes not working well?
Shimmy, noise, not slowing down, pull to one side.

Can you get the ABS to kick in if you slam the brakes on? Easy to check on a dirt road if possible.

Fluid level is good and no codes. There is a definite drop in power when I press the brake pedal hard. Car still stops but not very well and the harder I press the louder the blowing noise. Similar sound to one of those automatic hand dryers but not as loud. Under normal braking it performs just fine. Tried to engage the ABS and I can't get it to kick in.
Thanks

My guess is you need a power brake booster or have a damaged or leaking vacuum line to the booster. See if you can pull a vacuum on the booster and if it will hold vacuum.
