Took out bolts holding drivers seat in place, raised it to excess yellow air bag plug to trace 36 code fault, pushed in red clip to release plug when it fell out. My understanding is that this activates a short across the plug to keep the air bag from getting excited. What now, can I still remove the plug somehow, can I get a new red thingy, mechanic friend had pulled the plug a couple weeks ago and spayed it trying to solve the 36 code, no luck, this was a follow up to double check for a broke wire which if there I could not spot.
Anybody out there with a under seat yellow air bag plug ??? I could sure use one.

It's been a long time since I worked on X200 SRS but I think it is just a 'lock-tab' so it shouldn't affect the connector.
The 'shorting-bar' is opened when the end of the connector half bottoms out.
Jaguar issued several testing 'shunts' that plug into the yellow connectors (some are gray) to simulate an airbag (Most igniter resistance value range from 2.2 to 3.5 ohms).
I made my own with resistors and cut harness connectors.
WARNING: Never measure any air bag or igniter resistance directly with a voltmeter or the WDS
Toolbox; use only Datalogger function of WDS. Those not properly trained should never attempt SRS
diagnosis or repair. Follow all cautions in GTR relating to SRS procedures. Failure to follow proper
procedures can result in inadvertent airbag deployment and serious injury or death.

After I finish a repair I always make sure to erase the DTC and turn the MIL OFF.
I don't think the SRS light will go off without clearing the code.
I have 3 WDS and 2 IDS so that is what I use. There are other diagnostic devices that will work on Jaguars.
