No new updates as of yet. Snow storm kept my car stuck at dealership. Still waiting to have it moved to the other mechanic.

Cool I'm originally from Monroe. I used to do deliveries in Warren when I lived up there.

LOL! Yep George. The Greeks, Jews, and Italians are notorious for over bearing nagging moms...mine's so bad; I finally stuck her in a nursing home just to get he off my back...just kidding! LOL! I'm gunna rot in hell? On a not so humorous note...the V6 "S" is lighter up front, so wouldn't it "nose-up" with V8 springs?

I've been on vacation for the past week and I'm trying to catch up. Very interesting reading for a novice like me, I'm interested to see what happens in the end. Sure miss Riski's input on topics like this...

My mom isn't quite old enough for the old fogies home. (Although I'm contemplating it).
LOL she wouldn't go, she'd be kicking and screaming the whole way.

As far as the v6 v/s v8 springs, what's interesting is that H&R sells one set of Lowering springs for v6/v8 cars, and one set for the R cars, so they don't seem to think engine weight plays a role.

Non - R:

H&R Sport Lowering Springs - 00-08 Jaguar S-Type

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SKU#: HR-29436

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approx.Front Lowering: 1.3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approx.Rear Lowering: 1.2

STR:

H&R Sport Lowering Springs - 03-08 Jaguar S-Type R

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SKU#: HR-29300

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approx.Front Lowering: 1.4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approx.Rear Lowering: 1.3

The "R" springs lower the car by .1 of an inch more.

Take care,

George

Well, I finally have another update. It certainly appears that most of you were correct and it was not a broken rod, which is obviously good news. It appears that water was somehow sucked into the engine and froze, the sparks plugs were covered with ice and after melting, the car ran quite well according to the mechanic. He is currently diagnosing where and how the water got in there in the first place. It looks like my total bill is going to run into the $2000-$3000 range from all the testing and an oil change and new spark plugs. I will keep you all updated once I find out more info

Thanks

I have NO idea how that motor hydrolocked, it HAD to come through the intake tract, if at all... but that's nuts. Both on the misdiagnosis, AND the bill. Do you have the stock intake / air filter??

Take care,

George
