not to be rude, but if you have the $$$ to buy an '08, why can't you buy the bumper for it. An 02 has chrome inserts which your car does not have I believe.

I kind of doubt the 02 bumper would fit. Jaguar did some restyling in the 03-05 timeframe that updated the front end. The other problem you might face is if you damaged the bumper structure as opposed to the facia. If your insurance covers it go for an OEM replacement and match the paint, otherwise, your car will look rather odd.

lol yeah 02 is the very first design and you have the 2nd redesign with 08 front bumper

you would need at least and 05 and up for it to fit, then its still only a maybe because 08 all uses the R bumper from 05 and up

im sorry to hear about your misfortune but if your $$ is that limited why didnt you buy used to begin with?

I'll answer plain and simple.... No, an 02 Bumper will not fit. It may be able to be modded to fit but not without switching the grill and other parts. It goes like this. '99 through 02 is one style. '05 through '07 base cars have one style (with fog lamps) and the R has another style that ran through 08. The 08 base car got the R bumper. So, if you find a '05 and up bumper, that will work. Good Luck. Try this site.. Car-part.com it is a database of scrap yards that is searchable. It's saved me many a time.

Umm, all S-types have the inserts. The sport package cars got body color, along with R's but all regualr S's have chrome...

Understandable. He didn't know that though, which is why he asked.

I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, if the only difference between a perfectly fine used part and a new part is the new part costs more, I'm fine with the used part. A replaced bumper is going to have to be repainted anyway to color match. I'm not going to throw a couple hundred extra dollars away for no reason.
