Default Buying a 03 STR

I am looking at buying a 03 S-Type R for my wife. Any good or bad thoughts? Also the car doesn't comes with a navi. system. Is it possible I can buy one and get it install after purchasing the car?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Everything is possible but may not be cost effective. The european Nav, in general, is a few years behind the Japanese cars to begin with and the technology changes quite a bit every year so the Nav in a car thats over 7 years old is usually pretty dated. My 04 looks like space invaders from the 80's compared to the xbox of the '10.

If you don't like wires, check out a car with the factor nav to make sure you think its worth it. If so, I would suggest finding a car with the factory rather then adding it afterwards. If not, a $130 tom tom is much much better and a new nav is cheaper then the update disks. My free nav from buying 4 tires is better then the factory nav. I'm it were not for the touch screen menu for other function, the factory nav screen is a great place to mount the tom tom.

I changed the factory stereo to Pioneer NAV/MP3/BT unit.

Hi, welcome. Forget about the factory Navi, its terrible on so many levels even with the most recent updated disc. Do yourself a favor and buy a $100-$150 TomTom, it is SO much better, and that is what I now use on road trips.

I would recommend getting an 05+ STR considering the interior and exterior updates were done and arguably most of the bugs were fixed. If you really cannot find an 05+ in your price range, make sure you get one with a complete service record history and possibly an aftermarket warranty.

Also, make sure the tires are in good shape, they are NOT cheap and cannot be rotated due to the staggered fitament.
Good luck

Personally I would look for one that was optioned without NAV. Get the A/C control panel and CD player, and then swap out for a modern double din touchscreen / nav / dvd system.

Now, on the other hand if his knows how to drive well .

Nothing hotter than a hot chick that actually knows how to drive rather than being a passenger behind the wheel.
