Default A/C compressor

My a/c is blowing some serious hot air. I got the system vacuum and recharge and still no cold air. However, I went and look at the compressor and realize its not engaged. Does the DCCV engage the compressor? If not how can i check if the compressor is defective?

JTIS and elec diagrams explain it - quite complicated but makes sense when you think about it.
(No, the DCCV doesn't.)

You have a relay and a pressure switch that would prevent the compressor from engaging. I think if you look in the FAQ you will find a bunch of stuff on the A/C system to help you.

my ac was working fine then this past friday it died on me. i was passing up a car and stepped on the gas alil up to 95mph. after that my ac started to blow warm air and then it started to smoke. i look on my mirror and see parts fly out underneath my car. i pulled over and my the entire clutch from my compressor blew off. i was told by a mechanic that i probably had air in the system. maybe u should check if your car still has the clutch?

I had my a/c compressor checked out yesterday. The mechanic told me it has good power going to it but I need to replace it. I'm thinking of just replacing it with a re-manufacture or used one. Also is the clutch separate from the unit
