Iīm looking for the engine number on my 2002 S Type with 4.0 V8. The handbook says itīs on a raised pad near the thermostat housing.
I sold Honda parts for over twenty years, but whatīs under this hood has me a bit mystified. I can not find the raised pad or the thermostat housing.
I want to see if the engine number falls into the range where the car came with the updated timing chain adjusters.
Also looking for the article on jag finders that has more information about when that update was made but canīt seem to find it.
The series from the engine number was given to me on a thread that I posted in the xj8 section. Apparently the xj8 and the s type v8 is the same in 2002.

 

Any help?
