Not a perfume as such, but I use Febreze ( Apple spice ) for a Christmassy aroma in mine daily.

Perhaps twice a year I may do an aircon refresh using Comma Aircon deodouriser, which leaves a nice citrus lemon fresh smell.

I'm a smoker, but never ever use the ashtray, always out the window it goes and always get comments on the fresh smell of the inetrior.
My son vacuumed it the other day and as a non smoker commented on how it always smells clean & fresh and that you'd never know it was a smokers car.....Just the way I like it.

Dave,
Don't you wear perfume when driving ?
One of my pet hates is those damned Christmas Tree things which generate some chemical I'm violently allergic to.
No objection to a bit of leather cleaner - lots of threads on this - but really needs 'slightly burnt oil and cigar smoke' incorporating for best results.

Hy jim,
i m a smoker myself and like u i never ever use the ashtray. For the leather treatament i use Sonax leather care, it s preaty good, in combination with a gentile horse hair (did i write corect ? :P) brush.
The thing is that i remember when i buy my car that the carpets had a great smell on the.. so i make a call to the dealer where i buy it from, a friend of mine, and he sayd that they are using normal parfume that is find in the UK whash points and that he can recall the name of it.
Maybe u can help.. cuz my wife and i love that smell.
I remember that she whased the carpets and come to me sayng that even after the wash the great smell is still there.

Absolutely agree, great stuff, nice to have an old Jag smelling like new English leather inside. Got mine from eBay - don't bother with all the Gliptone kits, just try and find a 1 or 2-litre bottle of Gliptone Leather Conditioner. Your thirsty seats will thank you.

I don't use any air-freshener in the General, don't seem to need it. Like Jim I smoke, but I never smoke in the car. Jags always seem to naturally smell faintly of Havana cigars with a hint of a rather decent Claret.

Can anyone except me remember the days when pushing in the cigar lighter produced a smell of cigars ?
1940s Rovers - they also had the leather/burnt oil option.

Would that be because people used them for lighting cigars instead of powering 'phones, gps, etc?

Of course the burnt oil smell is self explanatory.

previous owner of my jag left behind a curious smell of the ganja...

in all seriousness, love that natural, rich leather smell you find on cars with proper high quality all-leather wrapped interiors,

my jag has some of that going since i totally restored the interior upholstery with leatherique two-stage treatment...

The smell of leather cleaner/conditioner is always great. I also like a hint of vanilla.

I usually spray my cologne inside the car so it smells like mont blanc or Creed but nothing still beats the smell of leather.

As 2000jaglvr mentioned as well with the leather cleaner

The guys at the car wash ask me "what smell? we have lavender, vanilla, rose pedals, etc"

The best smell ever must be a pair of the girlfriends knickers in the glove box.

That is until the wife finds them of course!!

Sorry to lower the tone, only joking, love the smell of new leather really.
