Default Cataclean ?

Does anyone here use Cataclean Catalytic Converter Cleaner ? I have a High Mileage S-Type and hope I never have to buy new cats.. Does cleaning out carbon extend their live? There is no inspection or emissions test here in FL,USA so I'm not concerned about that.. Thanks for your thoughts.

The best method for prolonging the life of the catalysts is to avoid operating the vehicle under conditions that cause misfires to occur.

If the MIL is flashing during a misfire event, catalyst damage is occurring.

I have read about the Cataclean, other magic elixirs and even the ole paint thinner trick. My belief, all snake oils! I concour with NB.

Thanks again for clearing that up.. Shortly after I bought my car I ran through about 4" of water and it went into what I think you all call "limp mode".. It's been fine since I installed new coils and plugs but learned soon it almost shuts down whenever there is a misfire.
