CD Changer stuck S type 2005

You can try this:
Open the sliding door on the cd changer.
You will see the one disk holder half way in/out.
Very carfully try to move the disk holder into the drive, (not out into the cassette), it will only move a mm or so.
Press the cassette eject button, it should now come out.
Put the cassette back in again.
The unit will then work as it should, until it jams next time!
two tips to stop this happening again:
Do not change disks when going over bumps!
Avoid using the MIX function to prevent the above hapening.

Mellow, I tried to move the disc in with pointy pliers but there is only a 4mm gap so near impossible to do.
As suggested by JagV8 i needed to take the changer out. I phoned around for costs etc and was told that there is only one repairer in West Australia and they can take 3 months.
So I checked out the jag workshop manual and decided to attempt the job myself. The manual instructed me to remove the 4 screws at either end (they were hex heads) so only had clear access one end.
Decided to undo the 4 bolts of the whole mounting cradle (both for audio and navigation systems), simple task, then was able to tumble the the cradle around to easily unscrew the 8 mounting screws with
a hex drive in a light drill/driver.
Once out I removed the changer and then disassembled that, located the big cog, moved that gently returning the stuck disc to the cassette. I was then able to eject the cassette.
Re-installed the changer to the car and it is currently working OK.
Merry Christmas and thanks to you both,Mellow and JagV8.

You can use a small screwdriver in the gap.
The sliding disk holder only needs to move about 1-2mm into the player to get it working again.
However as I mentioned this has to be moved inwards in to the mechanisum, not outwards back into the cassette.
If you try and move it outwards into the cassette when it is stuck it will not work and you may well have to end up taking it all apart.
If it happens again, and it probably will, try this method it may well save you the trouble of taking it all apart.
I am glad you have sorted it out anyway.
(It is also perhaps worth mentioning that the cassette is the same design as that used in the 1990 XJ40's and most other cars that used an Alpine CD changer.)
