I'd love to meet up with some east coast racers in March 2011...great idea 08z06!
I may have seen your buddy yesterday in the TA. Is it purple? If so, it is nice and very quick. When I lived in the Chicagoland area I used to race a 1997 Formula WS6 LT1 with a 6-speed trans. It looked and sounded great but was slow (14.1 sec @ 99 mph). With a few mods the car became a respectable toy at the dragway.
With my STR, I typically achieve 1.9 60ft launches running slightly wider rear tires (285s) that are aired down to 20-23psi driver-side and 28-30psi passenger-side. Due to the cold track yesterday I was only able to get a few 2.1 60ft launches. My first two runs had good speed (106.97 and 106.99 mph) but the ETs were not good at all for how cool the air was (13.5 and 13.4 seconds).
The rest of the day I toyed with a different air-intake system. Unfortunately, the computer would not properly adjusted to it. The computer would max out at 4500 rpm and then activate the rpm limiter. I worked with it for two hours with no success. I reinstalled the factory intake system and drove the car at normal speeds (below 4500 rpm) for more than hour before the computer and factory intake synched.
