Default CEL 2006 S-type

Hello,
I am STUCK and praying that someone can help. I have a 2006 S type 4.2 base. It has around 79k on the dash. Just recently, My CEL came on and gave codes for lean bank 1 and 2, I think it was P107 and P174.
I took it to the mechanic and asked him to run the codes himself and he said that he got the 2 lean codes and a Mass airflow Sensor code.
After reading the forums, I asked him to do a smoke test prior to buying any parts hoping to find a leak. He called and said there were no leaks in the smoke test so I bit the bullet and bought a new Airflow sensor because he cleaned the sensor the last time that I had the car with him (replacing the control arms). He cleared the light and changed the sensor and after 5 miles of driving (and filling up my gas tank). The light popped on again. I noticed a rough idle when cold this morning and I really dont want to keep dropping more money in the car trying to "figure it out.
I still have to run the codes for the CEL from last night, so I am not sure what it is spitting out right now...but based on what I am describing do you think it could be the IMT Orings?? I have also thought about spark plugs (i am not sure if the previous owner changed them and I am at almost 80K)
My head is killing me!!! Please help.
BTW I looked at the Vacuum leak repair on Jagrepair.com and I Looked at another post about how to change the IMT oring.
I just dont want to pay for hundreds of dollars worth of fishing, I would like to tell my mechanic where to look because obviously the codes are not much help...
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much

Get a cheap elm327 and look at fuel trims. You can also read codes. They cost $10 upwards.

Hot engine, parked, at idle and again about 2500rpm. Post the trims or read some of the posts about them.

Not likely to be plugs as they're good to 100K plus they won't all fail at once to cause both bank codes.

Please don't guess at codes or it'll get costly. Write 'em down.

Best not to guess parts, either, as yet.

No IMT o-rings on a 4.2 or any other V8 motor. So eliminate that.

Those codes point to a vacuum leak or the MAF sensor ( which you said is new). Just cleaning the MAF sensor doesn't seem to work in most cases.

Since it's both banks review what is common., purge canister is a known problem.

Default solved

Thank you for your help. I spent some time thinking about it and figured that I should go through a couple of drive cycles and then reset the CEL.
came back clean!!!
