Default coil pack resistance

While I have my value covers off and trying to find the source of the rough idle and rattling noise I decided to test the resistance on the coil packs since they were out and to eliminate them being the cause of the issue. Driver side packs ohms read .35 to .41 the passenger side how every were higher numbers .73 to .98. The passenger coil packs we laying out in the sun but it shouldn't raise that much given the fact that they would be exposed to higher temps while thr engine is operating?

You can test them properly with a fairly cheap COP tester

It's hard to say because it really does not matter what it reads with no load on the coil. In fact there is not any test that can reliably test the coils off the engine except a stress tester.

This was such a huge problem that Ford pushed their dealers to purchase and install coil stress testing machines. They were throwing out way too many good coils.

Are you having any misfires or other problems?

yea its running really rough with rattle noises but there are no codes stating anything directly related to misfiring or coil issues. I wanted check every aspect so I could to avoid replace other parts like the timing chain and tensioners and it end up being the coil packs.

Check cracks in coil plastic. You can also use stethoscope to find "knocking" bad coil. Spark to valve cover makes pretty loud noise. Sometimes you can see spark to valve cover at night.
I use RTV to cover cracks. First you need to heat coils to about 250F with heat gun. Check temperature with laser thermometer.
