Coolant
Hi, what problems and the 3.0L V6 is very different to the v8 R 4.2L that's a great motor unlike the 4.0L V8,,the book says orange so what is wrong with it what does it do or not do ? fanx Si
The correct coolant for the X200 is one that meets Jaguar specification WSS M97B44-D.
Whichever coolant you're about to put into the system, make sure it meets that specification, which should be listed on the container label.

I personally use the "pink stuff," Pentofrost SF from Pentosin, which meets the above Jaguar/Ford specification. Very good stuff, but not always available at the corner auto parts outlet.

What technical reason do you have to make this statement?
The car is not under warranty anymore and the green stuff works fine for the motor, hoses and other parts it contacts.
As long as you do a thorough flush the green stuff works fine without detriment. unless you know something i dont in which case Im curious to learn!
Refer to the X200 Workshop Manual, section 303-03B Engine Cooling:

Here is part of the text taken from the Jaguar Workshop Manual for the S-type:
"Fill the cooling system up to the MAX mark on the coolant
expansion tank using a fifty percent mixture of Jaguar Premium
Cooling System Fluid or equivalent, meeting Jaguar specification
WSS M97B44-D and fifty percent water."
and...
"Engine Coolant:
The long life engine coolant is formulated to last for five years or 240,000 km (150,000 miles). The coolant is silicate free and orange in
color. The long life engine coolant must not be mixed with conventional engine coolant."
If I recall correctly (and it has been many years since I owned a car which uses the "green stuff") the standard coolant requires refreshing, or re-charging its active chemical content every two years and the Jaguar spec coolant is good for five years.
The whole Dex Cool conundrum appears to have two major components: 1) a parts manufacturer compatibility issue arising with GM, and 2) lack of proper vehicle maintenance at the consumer level.
If the "orange stuff" was taking out cooling systems and engines, I am pretty sure Jaguar would have changed their spec long ago.

It meets both WSS M97B44-D and STJLR.651.5003 specifications.
If someone in a parts house says any colour/type coolant will work, go somewhere else.

Whatever coolant you use it is important not to mix the types/colours.
If you do mix the two it can congeal into a sort of gel causing all sorts of coolant issues.
So if you do change make sure the system is fully flushed out.
Or just always use the correct long life coolant.
Also see this technical bulletin:
