Default Coolant leaking Converter housing plug and

Im new to the forum and this is my first jaguar. I just bought a 01 stype 4.0 with 95,000 miles. The first 100 miles from the dealer no issues. Than problems started. I have replaced driver valve cover and gasket, replace coolant rez, all coils and spark plugs and the dccv. I also did a block test when I replace coolant rez. Car ran great for another 100 miles until my new issue. I have coolant leaking from the Converter housing plug. I also noticed fluid coming out of the starter gasket. I used a napkin and it appears to be only orange coolant but does have a oily feel to it. I have the jag service manual but Im a little confused about what my next step should be. Any advice at what could be letting coolant into the converter housing?

Are you sure it's not leaking down from the top of the engine??

There are a number of coolant hoses on the engine and I would start there using a coolant pressure tester. You can borrow one at most AutoZones for free. Wait until the car is cool before doing it.

Are you losing coolant??

Yes I'm losing coolant. Well I got some doubt now. I had the car on a ramp and wiped all the fluid off. I start car and watched underneath until I saw dripping. I than found coolant around the convertor plug and a separate trail coming from the lower gasket of the starter. I'm going to later take off plastic on the back of the engine bay to look at the coolant hose there.

I think that is where your problem is. You are just seeing the lowest point where it finally drips off the engine.

So I took off the rear plastic and the cross brace. I found a pool of coolant on the passenger side valley between the cylinder head and intake manifold. I used a fluid pump and remove the pool of coolant. I started the it up and the pool filled back up. What I cant see is where the coolant is coming from. Under the car it is defiantly coming out of the converter housing plug and running down both sides of the housing. I see the hose in the back but it don't seem to be leaking. Is there a hose under the intake manifold?

You need the JTIS which is the factory shop manual. Then you can see all the coolant hoses. It's free on this forum.

I would still pressure test it when it's cold so you can see where it's leaking. It's too hard to see things with the engine running.

Been reading up on the forum about a hose that's under the intake manifold. What is that hose called or part number? I'm going to pull the intake manifold off like the manual states. I'm going to need new tb gasket, and intake gasket to do the job so far. Any suggestions on maintenance when I pull the intake off? Is there any else to look out for when pulling the intake?

Thumbs up

I found the hose under the intake causing my coolant leak. I touched the fitting and the larger hose came out. There doesn't seem to be a barb fitting in there. I cant seem to find the part with the number on it xr839w539aa f190WQ . I don't want to wait so Im going to get a barb fitting for now. Thanks for heads up about looking there.
