Is this the correct rear parking sensor for my STR?

JAGUAR PARK AID/PARKING SENSOR X-TYPE S-TYPE XJ XK NEW | eBay
I emailed the seller and they said it is a genuine OEM Jaguar part and it 'SHOULD' fit my car (my driver side left most sensor is bad). What do you guys think? I don't like the word 'should'.

What are your symptoms? Does the system not beep at all when you back up close to something? How did you determine you had 1 bad sensor? Could it be a fuse or something else? Is there any way to re-set the system like there is for the automatic park brake?
Those rear sensors are a PITA after they get old and stop working; one problem after another you will encounter. Thats why I had them all removed and the holes filled in and painted over to get that nice clean look in the rear. I still get the short error sound when put in reverse, but it only last for few seconds so I didn't bother cutting the wires for the small speaker thats in the rear deck area that omits the sound for it. That sensor you showed Chris looks about right, it should work, but just get a second opinion to double check. Jagbits is a pretty reputable company that knows there shiat inside and out. I dealt with them in the past, good service.
Good Luck.

LOlz....I was under assumption they were related. My bad.

There's an ad at the top of this page for 4 back up sensors for $99.00. Sounds like a bargain! Would the Jaguar Forum let a non reputable company advertise here on the forum?

Take it easy...
hey i make a BPS-4 system that you could use to run in the car, while it isnt a factory unit, it could theoretically work. And it would cost you around 60 dollars for the whole thing with shipping.

You would have to remove the original sensors, and the original beeper from the rear deck( isnt that hard) and then see if the sensors are the same size. Actually i will find some from my box of random stuff and see if the fit would work.

Have you come across any rear backup cameras that are compatible for our STR's? Something that will connect up to our OEM head units, so that we can see the image on that touch screen.
Thanks.
That would be cool for adding to the front.
At the moment only "my ***" is protected.
Hey, how about something to prevent rim rash!

here is a photo of a genuine Jaguar kit I bought a couple of years ago, and retrofitted. They look the same to me, ie genuine.
Thanks for posting that JYA. How much did the "kit" cost? Looks pretty simple..........4 sensors, 4 retaining rings and a controller. Did you install yours yourself? Any tips to share with the group?
