MHO . . . find a nice 3.0 and stuff it in there with a manual transmission, beef up the suspension and wheels. Why waste a STR, unless of course you can find a guy with a dead STR that needs your engine?

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/ctd/5983423960.html

just an example. these seem to be pretty much available anywhere at this price. maybe a 4.2 and then not much suspension work.

I'd say 90% of readers won't understand your post. Are you talking about putting a crate motor in an S-type?

Run a tape measure over the coyote first, then the engine bay of the S-Type, you may be a little disappointed...

Coyote is a WIDE engine, and tall...

As Cambo stated, the 5.0 Coyote is a wide engine with its DOHC heads. It would be pretty darn tight between the shock towers in an S-type. OTOH, someone did successfully put a 4.6 DOHC motor in a Lincon LS. Not sure if the 5.0 has the same deck height or not.

What would the coyote engine get you besides the 6 speed trans for so much work! The stock Coyote's only have 435 hp. Too close to a stock STR to be worth the effort.

If you have the money, skip the Coyote and go directly to the new 800hp GT500 engine.
Not worth the effort unless you reap the HP benefit.

I own a s type r, my second, why a coyote motor? Size wise! it's about the same size as a ford 4.6 dohc. hp. a low comp 9.5 will make about 475hp.and will turn 7500rpm, I have a frpp-a504v kit./ cobra jet intake and a t-56, also have the 6r80 that came with motor and will be able to change rear end ratios. I will try to insert a picture of the cnc heads.

Or put a TS on and make up to 700HP as others have done.
