Default Cylinder order in STR

Just found out that I had a misfire in cylinder 3 in my 2003 STR and I plan to swap the coil with another to see if it is the coil, plug, or worse. Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the cylinder order in my car using the search or FAQ's. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They're all in the photos and PDFs that you cannot get because you are a newbie. You need to follow the newbie instructions you appear not to have noticed so far.

1,3,5,7 are all in the right hand bank with 1 in the front (it's an international standard)

Default Worse now

Originally, I had the following codes:

P0303 and P1316

Cleared the codes and went around the block, now:

P0300
P0303
P0307
P1313

At this point, I am at a loss as to where to start. Should I just take it to the dealer? I was going to swap the coil packs to see if it was the coil, but the codes are much worse now. Any ideas?

Thanks

Either spend time reading previous threads (plenty suitable) or yes find someone to work on it.
The Search feature is good...........

I have spent the last couple of hours searching through the site and have not found many instances of people fixing multiple misfires in the same bank, just lots of money thrown around with no sure fix in sight. I just purchased the car 1.5 months ago and don't want to commit more money than needed for a fix. Troubleshooting for multiple misses as opposed to a single cylinder doesn't seem to have a standard process unless I am missing something?

Found oil on the plugs and coil packs for cylinder 3 and 7. Anyone know what might cause this? Does the valve cover gasket need to be changed? I have searched on the site, but am not having much luck.

Try
Search
chhose Advanced
then appropriate keyword(s)
and just the S-Type forum

then hunt and read

Summary: the coils MAY clean or may be damaged. Up to you whether you fix the oil leak now or later LOL

You sure about that? V8s here in N. Am have #1 at the front left as the standard.

Maybe those cars don't follow the standard. You can read jag's way (which follows the ISO standard) in the PDF in the FAQs.

Or.... you're not using left the way cars do.

Left side reference would be standing behind the car while facing forward. 'Pilot's view' in the aviation world.

Looks like there little consistency in which cylinder is #1 on V8s. Ford, as always, is the odd one out.
