Default deadly steering problem

I have had this 2001 s type for 10 years. A great car. The problem is with the steering. I was driving around 50 mph when the car suddenly turned hard right without any steering wheel movement ( almost bought the farm). Took the car home and the right wheel which was turned right a little. Jacked the car up and the right wheel returned straight. Drove the car again = exact same thing. Scared to drive again. My wife ocassionaly drives the car and my granddaughter is going to learn on this car HELP

Very likely the lower ball joints are either toast or the nuts have backed off of them.

There's a vid on you tube that shows how to check all the noises and things that could go wrong underneath with a Jag. Do a search, I tired to find it but could not but it is there. Maybe another member has the link. The guy is fairly good at showing everything.

If the road wheel turned but the steering wheel didn't then my money would be on a tie rod problem - possibly the inner one inside the steering rack.
