Diesel exhaust fumes from under bonnet on startup.
Hi all.
Just bought a 55 plate S Type V6 2.7 D.
I've noticed that on startup and for a few minutes afterwards, there are exhaust fumes coming out from under the bonnet and being drawn into the cabin.
Once I get moving, it clears up, but it bloody stinks for a while!
There is no noise to indicate a blown manifold, so I don't know what to think.
Any suggestions?

The diesel has a webasto diesel powered heater under the n/s front wing - UK (towards the front).
When its cold this runs to help improve engine heating up times and therefore cabin heaters.
I had one of these and when i started it for the first time when it got cold I though the engine bay was on fire.
From what I found they smoke after thay haven't be used over the summer, mine took a few weeks to clear.
Might be worth looking at, unfortunatly as this is mostly a US forum answers relating to diesels might not be forcoming as I don't think the diesel version was exported to the US.
