Does my 05 S Type have Bluetooth ?
I just picked up a 05 S Type 4.2 & I was reading the owner's manual & in there the was a booklet for the Jaguar Bluetooth operation.
The book says press the button marked "Telephone" & then enter ##1 ##1 or something like that.........when I press the "Telephone" button the screen just shows a message "This car does not have a telephone fitted"
Does this mean I have no factory Bluetooth or am I doing something wrong?

Replacing the factory radio in the car with a Bluetooth capable radio should not cost more than $1500 including part and labor; usually much cheaper than that.
Once the car radio is Bluetooth with a Touchscreen, then as long as your handheld pocket cell phone is also bluetooth, they will communicate wireless-ly, and you should be able to dial numbers directly on the new radio touchscreen keypad.
And phone audio should feed through the wireless bluetooth connection and play through the car speakers.
Getting steering wheel controls of the radio to work may be difficult, though.
If you go to the trouble to replace the car radio, you should install a replacement radio with GPS, in addition to theBluetooth/Touchscreen capabilities.
Thanks for the further info. I have done some searching on here and have not found anyone that has had it installed after the fact. I just purchased 2006 S-type and I love the car.
I had no idea the bluetooth was optional on the car when I saw the phone buttons on the dash. It's my fault for not looking into it further...
Thanks!

I am pretty certain I saw someone here claim they had done this, within the past month.
And I asked the person how many hours it took.
Do not think I received an answer.
Some S-Types even have cassette radios in them, so this is an important issue.

If the cell phone is bluetooth capable, then one solution is using a device which has both bluetooth and an fm-transmitter. Some handheld GPS devices have those two features and can mounted in a car.
