Default Door lock/unlock on it's own

I have a 2007 Jaguar STR. I am having a problem locking the door. Can anyone provide some knowledge as to why when locking the door it inlocks on it's own. I have manually tried to lock the door with the key but for some reason it doesn't fit in the key hole. My mechanic scanned the car and was unable to figure out the problem. Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?

This is typically caused by a failed lock actuator, which "bounces back" and fails to send the proper signal to the car's security system indicating all doors are locked; the system fails to set and executes a global unlock.

if you watch the interior lock tabs when locking from the fob, you will see the offending lock bounce back first, then followed by the others.

so most likely the lock that bounces back first is what needs to be replace with a new acutator?

yes it will bounce back very fast compared to the others. 2 things. Use genuine jaguar or orm actutors and get some of these. Ebay item 313441533586. Or the more expensive oem ones if needed quicker
