Hello,

I have a 1993 XJ6 Vanden Plas that is having door lock issues. It started with one of the rear doors not unlocking when I put the key in the door to unlock it. Then it went to not being able to lock it from the drivers side door because it would lock then immediately unlock. Next it went to both read doors not unlocking when the key was turned and only being able to lock it with the front passenger side door. Now that it was in the shop and my mechanic had to slim jim the door because they accidentally locked the keys in it, you cannot lock the car from either the drivers or passenger door. I know i have to replace the drivers side door handle assembly, but was wondering if anyone has had similar issues with the lock system and if I need new actuators in the rear doors.

 

I had a similar problem that turned out to be faulty door actuator . In my case, I could lock the doors manually because front passenger door was a problem and this tells me why you can't lock the doors either way
