Default Door trim

Dear Guys
The chrome door trim around the front drivers door on my 2002 S-Type has started to pull away from the door. Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace this with new trim?

Default Help

Dear JoycesJag

Thanks for that. Can you please tell me if the fastening clips come with glue or tape or do you have to buy that additionally?

You also said that there were some additional photos of the process?

Best wishes
Russell

Russell,

What more do you want from the above link. I believe I have covered everything you asked for.

The "X" clips are sold separately (individually) the part number is supplied in the above link from a Jaguar supplier. The 3M tape (again) is readily available from any big box autoparts joint.

As far as additional photos, they are posted in the detail section. They are only of the finished look.

Dear Joycesjag

I have another question. How do you remove broken x fasteners and how do you attach the new ones to the metal of the door?

Push the plastic dowel pins all the way through the X clips and gently pry X clips out. To install new X clips push them in and push plastic dowel flush.

I pulled the broken clips out with needlenose pliers. Some of them were brittle enough that they broke and had to be pulled out in pieces. Still, not hard to do....
