remove dashboard vents 2003 s type

I have a rattle coming out of each of my dashboard vents when I hit bumps at slow speed. It is not the defroster on top ,I removed that and went on test drive. How are these removed?

Pay special attention to my warning about removing these parts. You are likely to damage very expensive parts. I paid about $380 to refinish both dash pieces.

I doubt that those vents are rattling. Not reported before and I have had all of them out. What I would do is stuff the vents one at a time with soft foam. Then try to get the rattle to happen again. Things inside the dash are the most likely cause but even then not much has been reported.
