The engine drain plug is on the RH side of the sump casting, facing the RHF wheel, and towards the rear of that sump.
It is a 13mm spanner size, and it is a bolt with an integral washer as part of the head.
If you still cant see it, post back, and I will jack mine up and take a Kodak of it for you.

Grant, thanks for the information. Though that the 22 mm plug was the transmission and was correct. Will look again. As stated the filter was easy to view and address. In a session on youtube saw that on latter models there was a plastic cover that had to be removed from the bottom of the engine.
It appears that this is not the case on the 2001 years.

Correct on the cover, so we are blessed.
The engine drain plug is in the "lowest" point of the cast alloy sump, and I reckon you will see it.
