Default Driver's Door Open!? and Radio issue....

Ihave two problems.....

First onestarted about 3 weeks ago....I was getting back into my car after school and I used the global open with my remote. When I sat in the car and turned it on, I got the annoying ding and the cabin lights were on, so I opened and reclosed my door....same thing happened when I repeated 2 more times then I drove off. About 5minutes down the road it stopped as I was putting the driver's window up. I put the window back down and it started the ding and saying driver's door open. When the driver's window is up no message, when its down annoying ding, message, and cabin lights while at a stop.

Seccond problem has been ongoing sinceI bought the car. The radio display will sometimes work....sometimes display unreadable symbols or work perfectly fine. Usually when I tap on the screen it works normally or goes blank. I still can change all the settings and listen to musicm just no display.

Any ideas?....I can take pics of the radio/message

its a 2000 S-Type 3.0

On the radio issue, I have noticed that the 2000 S-Type cassette radio will sometimes turn on or off, in response to inertia; either the car accelerating sharply or braking sharply.
I assume there is a connector loose or corroded somewhere connected to or inside the radio.
Perhaps, if the power connector cycles off then on, it could leave the radio in an indeterminate state (i.e. on or off).

I don't think it shuts off because the whole time I am still hearing music.......I might have to tear her apart next weekend and check the connectors

Where are the instructions on how to dismantle the dash and reach the back of the 2000 S-Type cassette radio ?

pull the door panel and check for the window hitting the wiring harness when down to the door latch that contains the switch to tell the module if it open or closed, if ok, replaced door latch. if your radio is doing that it is a fault in the led display and control circuits within the faceplate(common failure) replace the head unit, if were say the ground, ora powerwire it would not work at all.

I have the same problem; It seems to happen when it is hot outside (in summer) and not at all when it's cooler out.

I would like to know what you find.
