I have two identical Siemens S1D 201. from 2005 s-type 2.7D auto.
All the numbers and digits are an exact match.
My Local Jag dealer tells me one is for the Automatic the other a manual/stickshift, and the are not interchangeable.
Both start the car, the auto is fine, the manual returns DSC/ABS fault.
The dealer has written on the manual unit N40157 anyone know that number.

Or anything about ECM??

Why do you want to try to use a manual ECM ?

 

Looks like last 6 of the VIN.

Messing with PCMs risks car going into anti-theft lockout at which point you will need a dealer tool and time, at best.

The diesel uses a different PCM to the rest of the S-Types. No diesels in USA/Canada btw.
