Default ECM and TCM hard reset.

The dealer says that they did a hard reset of the ecm and the tcm to stop the car from bogging when I would take off. Would this remove all software updates. I have had more trouble since this was done, goes into drive hard, lurching and idle issues that I never had before but because there are no codes showing up they tell me there's nothing wrong and that this would not remove any software updates from the past. Just curious.

Programing will not be erased by a hard reset.

What year S-Type?

Default RE: ECM and TCM hard reset.

So i just got a new engine installed in my 02 S-Type and there are some issues with the computer. I was told to fix the wire harness and then flash the computer to fix everything.

My questions are: Does this sound right, is it hard to do, does anyone in san diego ca have the means and want to share them? Otherwise i'm just going to the dealer and paying the hefty $132 an hour.
