Default Electric Problem

I think one of my grounds have come loose and I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out which one(s) to focus on. The cars dash reads dsc not available, engine malfunction, park brake malfunction. The engine starts revving up but the gas pedal is unresponsive. I posted the code below along with a map of the grounds. Previously it was an occasional issue which could be remedied with a reset but it's recently become a permanent issue. If anyone can make a suggestion it would be much appreciated.

2005 s type 3L

You have classic symptoms of a failing battery.

Leave car unused over night, do not start it but turn headlamps on then read battery voltage - what is it?

If you think you have a ground problem, repeat volts check in each part of the car.

Beware that P2135 changed meaning and your tool is not to be trusted with it (or any code starting P1).

(It's either TPS or APP - see below - but your ought to be TPS if not a bad battery / power.)

I really hope it is just a bad battery. I literally got this one less than a year ago on warranty because the previous new one also failed at 1 year. I don't know why this car eats batteries or how I could have that bad luck with them but I'll test it out today and come back with the results. With the bad battery before it only caused the parking brake fault.

If it is that, they could be getting killed from too little driving or a power drain.

That is the code I was getting when my TPS plug was full of water !
Noted the Str had an issue with that and you are not dealing with an Str .
But also check the TPS connections are clean and dry !
These codes don't always send you to the source of the problem .

Here's a little clarification about the P2135 DTC:

All 2005 Model year vehicles-
Code P2135 replaces the P0121 this year. Throttle mis-match between TP1 & TP2
**[you can bet this is either a TPS failure, meaning throttle body, or the circuits between it and the ECM]

2006 Model Year code P2135
X200 & X350- Code P2135 Pedal mis-match between APP1 & APP2
X200 & X350- Code P0121 for TP1 & TP2 mis-match
X400 & X100- Code P2135 Throttle body mis-match between TP1 & TP2

Note: 2006 X200 & X350 code P2135
Code P2135 can set if the customer is setting at a red-light with his/her foot on the brake and on the APP at the same time. When the owner goes to accelerate it can false flag this code.

I guess you could debate me on whether that's a clarification, or not. :-)

Cheers,

Cheers,
Thanks for the information. I appreciate the input from everyone. The battery was OK so I put it back in and lo and behold she started up and didn't trigger everything instantly. I got about 4km before everything went haywire again so I reset it and crossed my fingers. It went smoothly after and I was able to get it to a nearby friend's place. I've only driven it a few short distances since but have been making sure to turn it on and get the juices flowing. Ive had issues with some electrical components if I don't start it up every day. A couple times I didn't touch it over the weekend and my trip odometer would reset to 0. This time it had sat for about 5 days. Does that help diagnose the problem at all?

Reset what, and how?

You're not doing the car and the basic dead battery issue any favours by driving in short hops. The battery will never fully charge. Go out for a good long drive and/or get a battery tender to keep it fully charged.

There also may be a battery drain problem.

+1 on having a battery maintainer connected with the vehicle sits unused for several days.

With the ignition in the off position, turn on the headlamps and read the voltage at the battery. It should read above 12.2 volts, if not the battery must be replaced regardless of its age.

The battery is fine. I think I've got the problem narrowed down to either having a bad tank of gas or needing a new throttle body. I'm hoping it's the cheaper fix. I treated the remaining gas from the previous tank and filled the other 2/3 with some fresh stuff and it seems to be doing well so far. Managed to get it home 80km so it's definitely improving.

Is the MIL on, and if so, are the DTCs stored in the system the same as previously posted?

What is the fuel pressure at the Schrader fitting on the fuel injector rail?

Has the fuel filter been replaced?
