Default engine replacement

Hello everyone im seeking a few answers my jaguar may possibly need a new engine a Mechanic i spoke with says that the 2004 jaguar s-type 3.0 v6 engine is the same as the 2004time lincoln ls enginr i was wanting to know have anyone done an engine swap like this? Any help will be greatly helpful thanks.

Hold on... tell us much more, like why it's thought to need one. They're pretty solid.

I let my sister drive it for a few week an drove it low on oil and one day she was driving it and it shut off on her now im not 100% sure if the engine is bad or locked but im since it was driven low on oil im just preparing for the worst any help from you guys would be great and what i need to do to get it back up and running

Add oil. What happens when you try to start it?
