A 1.5 pulley (Mina Galleries) and low temp. thermostat (Euro Toys) went on today and just as expected; along with a full exhaust mod (Magnaflow hi-flow cats, Magnaflow x-pipe, 2 1/2" pipe, exiting through Magnaflow mufflers) an STR is an awakened beast. Much more power throughout the entire powerband; even with the worn supercharger belt. EuroToys supplied me with too small a belt. Ordered a new original belt through European Imports ($32). This combo will dust a stock STR and many other things you may throw at her. I'm working out a meeting with Lomotion Cars (Poughkeepsie, NY) that will hopefully lead to a dyno-tune either in Connecticut or Long Island, NY. I'll keep yas posted.

Can we get some videos of the exhaust? I thought I read that you replaced the stock resonator, instead of just deleting it, correct? If so, I'm really interested in seeing how much quieter this could be than the usual magnaflow exhaust done to most strs

Drjs and Mark, I'll take videos today. I used Walker Dynomax glass packed tube mufflers (12" resonators in this case) welded in before the Magnaflow's as a means to quiet her down a notch. I should have heard her prior to their installation but judging from others applications of stand alone Magnaflow mufflers I had a hunch I would be overwhelmed by much exhaust bark. I wanted to inform you both that the beautiful thing about a blown engine is that the blower dramatically smooths out exhaust impulses, thus quieting down the exhaust note. If the STR was normally aspirated the stock exhaust would sound more aggressive. I may replace the Magnaflows with Walker Dynomax Super Turbos as a means to quiet her down a notch. If too quiet then the Walker glass packed resonators will come off too. Otherwise, the way she sits now the performance and note is almost too intoxicating. The hi-flow cats, x-pipe, 2 1/2" pipe, mufflers, low temp. thermo., and 1.5 pulley are a hit in the throttle response, power, and note dept. As for the engine dept., an ECU tune is up on deck; after new struts and the H&R Sport lowering springs.

Whine is not louder but comes on earlier due to a smaller pulley spinning the blower faster. I rented the Eurotoys pulley tool but took the obvious and easier route (1/4 of the time of pulling it off)...cut off the steel stock pulley then screw on the much lighter aluminum Mina Galleries pulley. Use the pulley puller if you want to keep your stock steel pulley. Guys, I'm gunna take a vid. The cards weren't right for today. I need one of my sons to direct me on howe to do this. he wants to help and it's gunna happen. I'll tell ya though...do the exhaust mod, pulley, and low temp thermostat and ya STR will come alive. Do an ECU remap thereafter and she'll scream!

Looking forward to the results of your run. Does she behave markedly differently than stock? i.e. off the line punch, mid and top range powerbamd, etc. I'll dyno if i do EuroToys ECU tune or just do a dyno-tune.

Congrats I'm the upgrade! I think if more owners new how significant a difference it made, everyone would be doing it. I bet it feels like a brand new ride now everytime you floor it

The OP (Seth Gross) sold his STR several years ago and has been long gone since then....
