+1, I'm very curious about this also. Borla claims their exhaust tip will increase hp and torque how the hell is that possible?"BORLA uses patented straight-through and multi-core technology to help increase horsepower and torque" link below.

Your S type looks phat! ARe those 20's on her? , That Borla exhaust looks really nice, not a bad option to go with it Question regarding the length size, emmm...it depends on you, how much you want it to stick out. I would suggest sticking the tip out just enough to see the logo brand of the exhaust tip

4 Inch tip looks like a perfect fit, imho.

Just A Jag, your ride looks great. I never liked the dark grey, but you have changed my opinion!

justajag, ya can get an additional 25 hp from that 300 hp 4.2. Slap in a K&N drop-in air filter, modded air intake elbow, Eurotoys low temperature thermostat, Magnaflow hi-flow cats and x-pipe, replace stock resonator with Magnaflow dual inlet/outlet muffler, finally dumping out of a pair of Magnaflow mufflers. Keep the stock pipe.

Marketing gibberish. An exhaust tip isn't going to do much of anything other than perhaps change the tone some and improve (or mangle, depending on the choice) the look of the vehicle.

You won't see any gains from exhaust mods without modifications to most of the system, at the very least cat-back.

All the manufacturers make these claims, they probably have some controlled one-off experiment that "proves" the claim somehow. Regardless, Borla is a reputable company that makes good products (I have a Borla header back stainless system on my Jeep) and I would still buy their products, even though these claims about an exhaust tip improving HP and torque are a little off.

Default Tips - Exhaust

I use MagnaFlow myself, BUT I think your "Tip1" Looks the best of all of them.

I'll also recommend 4" tips. I have custom made mufflers fitted atm with no name double walled angle cut tips similar to Magnaflows. They do look nice.

Sweet thanks for that Michal I've been wondering what 4"ers would look like on the 05+ back end since the rear bumber is different. Looks like they fill the cutouts perfectly.

I have the Borla Catback with I think 3.5" borla tips. I will snap some pics and measure them tomorrow.

snap a few in the garage. The guy that had it installed hung them to low, I have to bring it up to the shop and cut them lose and rehang.

Its 3" Borla tips attached to the mufflers and they are about even with the openings although it looks like they stick out in the photos. I will have to snap some from directly behind once I get them where they need to be.
