Hello.
I've had problem after problem with centre console lights not working, even door locking mechanisms working, not working, working. My local Jaguar Specialists have told me it's the Forward electrical module needs replacing. They quoted me £400. £200 for the FEM & £200 labour. I purchased a FEM (hopefully the right one). Is it much of a job to change one! I will have a go at things like, brakes, door mechanism, window mechanisms, I'm okay at taking things apart, and occasionally putting them back together. I've looked online and can't find anything of help.
Could anyone point me in the right direction.
Many thanks.

It would be helpful to know the MY, engine fitted, and kilometres/miles displayed on the instrument cluster.

What is the available voltage when checked with a voltmeter across the battery terminals whilst the ignition is in the OFF position for at least thirty minutes?

Are there any DTCs stored, or instrument cluster warnings?

Hello.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. Some info I wont have until tomorrow.
Jaguar S-Type 2004, 3.0Ltr Sport.
Milage 88457.
No instrument cluster warnings.
I fitted a new battery about six months ago. It might something or nothing, I had a FM radio transmitter powered from the cigarette lighter socket, that has also stopped working.

This is odd because FEMs are so reliable.

Maybe workshop manual has pinpoint tests. Both it (I expect) & Electrical Guide show where FEM (aka GEM) is. Free downloads.

Maybe wiring/fuse/relay issue rather than FEM.

I _think_ FEM is not part of immo (anyone know?) so can probably just be swapped.

The OP is in the UK, so vehicle is RHD. Perhaps RHD component placement is a mirror on the opposite side?

Just look at Jag doc e.g. on JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource no need to guess.
