Default Fan issue

Symptoms are: Temp guage climbs when in stop and go traffic. Running the A/C speeds this up. Don't hear the fan running at all.

I read pages and pages of posts and have concluded that it is either:

1. a fuse
2. a module of some kind
3. the fan itself.
4. remote possibility of a wiring problem.

Can anybody tell me where and which fuse(s) to look at first? Can I check the module with a digital multimeter?

Thank you.

ps: the search function will not allow you to search the word "fan" Why not?

Annoyingly it ignores 3 or fewer chars. But you can use fan*

yes, include the asterisk.

There are 2 fuses in mine. Details vary with car & year, see handbook / JTIS.

Module is PWM (see my sig) so not too easy to check.

Turned out to be a dead fan. The part is covered by the extended warranty I got with the car. $100 Deductable. Good investment I reckon.
