Lady reversed into me today. Was wondering are all 2000-2008 fenders compatible? It's a 03 stype v6 and found a fender at the wreckers for $100

from an 06 str.

Same happened to my wife: Another woman, which was in no condition to drive, reversed - without looking - into the fender of our stationary S-Type on a parking lot.
For all I know, all S-Type fenders are the same, apart from the colour of course.
To swap the fender, the frt. bumper needs to be removed.

Is it difficult to remove the bumper? I'm guessing it doesn't have to be fully dropped but disconnected from the side under the fender.thx for the quick reply

If I recall correctly, removing the frt. bumper only on one side is not really possible, it needs to come off completely. It is not difficult, but a lot of work. All the many little screws have to come off. And the connector to the wiring loom section in the bumper needs to be disconnected, and that is a stubborn connector. I think there was possibly a trick, something like shifting a lever-like thingy to unlock the connector, before you can pull it apart, which would still be hard. WD40 helps. The wheel arch liners have to come off as well (possibly only partially) as it has bolts, which are holding on to the bumper as well.

So if you plan to add DTRL (Day time running light, fog lights with DTRL LED halos), this would be a good time to do it, while the bumper is off anyway.

When I fixed my passenger side front fender I took the bumper all the way off. I had to put the finder off and on several times to get the gaps right. So I think it will be better to just remove the front bumper before stating the repair.

I would take the car to a body shop. That isn't a major type of repair for a good shop. I had a minor clear coat peel on my boot/trunk lid. When they got done, it looked factory new.

I only replied to Taddy's question about how to remove the fender. We do not have the extra information to decide, if the car should go to a body shop...
Like: If the new fender from the wrecker in perfect nick and in the correct colour? If yes, then DIY. If not:
Does the insurance of the other car pay? If yes, then yes, body shop.

We went to a recommended body shop. The other insurance even agreed to pay for the last existing fender, that Jaguar Australia had. So new fender (several thousand AU$) and perfect paint job including blending, which is required for metallic paints (and which was also a few thousand, I assume). The car looked like new after all that. (But just a few weeks later... - sadly I can only hint details here, as I am not allowed to be racially insulting: So we live in Australia... There is a certain racial minority here... their children are uneducated (as they refuse to go to school), they are bored and one of their hobbies is trying to kill people... the Young Offenders Act is an Australian law, which means that those children cannot be touched by the law. So one of their hobbies (as well known to the police) is to throw big rocks at passing cars in the night in the area, where they live. And in a double hit our S-Type was hit millimeters below the driver's window and a massive hit with a big dent in the super-solid D-pillar. So we have an appointment again with the paint-Shop, and we most probably have to pay that ourselves, as it does not look like police or government take on responsibility for their shortcomings on the legislative side and consequently on the executive side of the law...)

I am not half-bad with proper spray-painting myself. I sprayed half of my X-Type with acrylic spray paint. But the paint shop does it batter, and they have better paint: 2-pac paint, something, where chemicals get mixed just before spray painting (kind of like a 2-component glue). Also: Blending is something, which is beyond me...
